On 17 October 2023, we held our Preliminary Design Review (PDR) meeting online, bringing together our consortium partners and the members of the Advisory Board.
Overview of the meeting:
A comprehensive overview of the R&D and user engagement actions completed and those ongoing in the different Work Packages of the project has been provided.
Of particular note were the different types of indicators CENTAUR is currently developing, including socio-economic, urban flooding, as well as water and food insecurity indicators. These are still being refined, with ongoing research and the implementation of the feedback received from the Advisory Board members.
Another highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the use cases that CENTAUR is focusing on. The team provided a thorough overview of the status of each use case, outlining the ongoing data collection processes for both ‘hot’ cases (those which are currently unfolding or will occur during the life of the project) and ‘cold’ cases (crises which have already occurred). The aim of the use cases is to validate the indicators under development and to verify their practical applicability.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to review the deliverables completed since the last meeting in June 2023, including:
• The report on ‘Urban Flood and Water & Food Security Indicators’ (D1.1)
• ‘Catalogue of CENTAUR Data and Related Specifications’ (D2.1).
• ‘Urban Flood and Water and Food Insecurity Design’ (D2.2).
• ‘Platform Design Document’ (D3.1).
The meeting presented an interesting opportunity to discuss the overall progress and to gather important feedback from the Advisory Board members to ensure a successful continuation for the project.
The project management team would like to thank all the partners and members of the Advisory Board for their invaluable contributions.
